Cold Ocean Killer
New Bedford is one of the richest fishing harbours on North America's east coast, but the surrounding waters are some of the most dangerous. Warm air currents from the Gulf Stream collide with cold winter air currents from the North, and create North Easters, which are cold water cousins of the Hurricanes which are experienced in lower latitudes.
Typhoon Alley
The US territory of Guam is right in the heart of Typhoon Alley. The rapidly building Typhoon Kammuri puts its vital US Navy base and shipping harbor on high alert. Within days Kammuri grows more powerful and strikes the Philippines as the most powerful typhoon of the year.
Gulf Storms
The Gulf of Mexico is a hub of industry and commerce for the USA. The problem is that the Gulf coast is a target for many of the storms that develop in the Gulf. So the question now is, how much damage will they cause through the season ?.
Super Typhoon Terror
Typhoon Hagibis started as a super typhoon in the Pacific Ocean. After hitting Japan, the Typhoon grows with frightening speed, and moves into the Bering Sea, putting shipping on high alert. Ships, fishing boats, and military vessels capture the action as they face the monster storm.
Hurricane Humberto
Hurricane Humberto forms, and grows to category 3 status in the Gulf of Mexico. It takes aim on the island of Bermuda, but thanks to timely weather warnings, plans are put in place to limit damage as much as possible.
Hurricane Dorian
A tropical cyclone develops again in the mid-Atlantic, placing the Caribbean and Eastern Seaboard on high alert. Becoming a category 5 Hurricane it is named Dorian. It is being called the storm of the century, and most of the Seaboard areas prepare for its arrival.
