Smart-mouthed delinquent Eric Orben is given detention and made to look after the school tarantula Guildernstern. When Guildernstern is poisoned, Fillmore and Third take up the case, but Eric also sets out to prove his innocence.

Diehard fans Torrey and Teri produce audition piece after audition piece, but each is destroyed. They suspect the fans of a rival series, but things aren't what they seem.
