A woman divorces her cheating husband and moves her family from Nashville to Malibu. There she'll try to reignite her own singing career and keep herself and three kids from being corrupted by the materialistic and rarified Malibu world she now calls home.

Reba thinks her music career is about to take off when she finally gets to meet Mr. Bata in person, but her hopes take a hit when she learns that he wants her to write commercial jingles. Meanwhile, Sage changes his mind about applying to Stanford because he doesn't want to be away from June, and he's decided to pursue a music career.
Reba is torn over whether or not she should tell Kim that her husband gave her an introductory kiss that was a bit too passionate; Lillie Mae discovers the meaning of pain when she stumbles upon a nude beach and gets a full-body burn; Geoffrey urges a buttoned-up Reba to open herself up and be more honest in her songs; June tests Reba's boundaries by inviting neighbor Sage into her bedroom to give her advice on what to wear; and Cash gives away all his new clothes after his old Nashville clothing is rejected for not being up to Malibu clothing drive standards.
Reba's wayward brother, Blake, pays a surprise visit and comes up with a hasty plan to turn Lillie Mae's BBQ sauce into a profitable business. But Blake's dubious past for trying to make a quick buck without asserting a lot of effort makes Reba fear that he'll let their mother down with his latest get-rich-quick scheme. Meanwhile, when June lets it slip at school that Cash is still a virgin, Uncle Blake gives him some questionable advice, which Cash awkwardly puts into action to help remedy his situation.
Reba, June and Cash vie to give Lillie Mae the very best birthday gift, but when her wish is for Reba to bowl for her league's opposing team, the competition gets less than friendly.
Reba and Lillie Mae put their plans for a weekend getaway on hold when their neighbor makes a confession that stirs things up for the entire family and shakes Kim's confidence in her abilities to be a good mom.
Reba's record company wants her to work with a hit singer who has a bad-girl reputation. The singer moves in with the Gallaghers, where she becomes a very bad influence on Cash and June.
Cash needs to write a one act play for a class at school. Reba tells him to write about something he knows so he writes a play about a star baseball player from Nashville who cheats on his red-head wife that sounds very much like Reba.
June wants Reba to introduce her to Mr. Beta so she can start her singing career. Even after a video June uploaded to YouTube goes viral, Reba tries to convince June that the music business is hard to get started in. Cash has a knack for picking winning horses, so Kim and Lillie Mae use him to pick ponies for them to bet on.
Reba agrees to host Kim's baby shower but gets caught on tape telling her true feelings for Kim. Lillie Mae helps Cash get noticed by some contestants to a beauty pageant.
When Reba learns that June's school has dropped its music program, she tries to rally the music committee moms to revive it. Cash gets a reputation as a bully after he stands up to the most popular boy in school, and enjoys the popularity that his new "bad boy" persona brings. But when Reba goes toe to toe with the school principal, she gains the same reputation. Meanwhile Lillie takes part in a protest to keep her local pot dispensary up and running.
Reba and Kim are trying out for a the same solo in the church Christmas show. Kim's audition is terrible but that doesn't mean that she won't get the solo. June tells Cash that she doesn't believe in God.
Reba's attempts to gather intel on Bobby's past life from his ex-bandmate, Pete (guest starring Steven Weber), are foiled by his "bro code" but when Lillie Mae offers this recovering alcoholic some of her homemade beer, all bets are off. Meanwhile, Cash is grounded for sneaking out in the middle of the night to help his sister.
When Reba begins feeling threatened that her daughter is sharing more of her life with Kim than with her, she resorts to text spying and trying on teen fashions to get closer to June. Meanwhile, Lillie Mae teaches Cash how to be the man of the house.
Reba is angered when ex-husband Bobby arrives for Cash's birthday and gives him a brand new sports car, knowing full well that Reba wanted their son to earn a car by working for it and not by entitlement. Meanwhile, Lillie Mae tries to calm down a scared Kim, who finally admits that she's pregnant with no clue how to raise a baby.
Reba is thrilled when Geoffrey gets Mr. Bata to agree to have one of her songs recorded, but is insulted when he wants a rapper (Travie McCoy) to record it in her place; Lillie Mae discovers that she has a secret admirer; and Cash tries to tone down his southern accent in order to fit in with his school peers.
Kim and Lillie Mae convince Reba to go on a blind date; June experiences some boy troubles.
Reba McKenzie very publicly discovers that her country music legend husband, Bobby Gallagher, has been cheating on her. Determined to get a fresh start and perhaps revive her own country music career, Reba packs up her sharp-tongued mother and two kids and drives cross country to live in Bobby's Malibu beach-front party pad. Once there, gregarious and over-sharing neighbor Kim immediately reaches out with an offer to mentor Reba as she adjusts to Southern California.
