The heroes learn that Jason has been caught by Pasiphae's troops, and plan to rescue him before he is lost forever.
The Oracle's prophecy comes true; Jason's heart is blackened with the knowledge of his mother's identity.
Ariadne's life hangs in the balance when Pasiphae seizes Atlantis; the heroes are forced to seek refuge in the mountains above the city.
When Jason is sentenced to death for killing the Oracle, it appears that there is little anyone, including Ariadne, can do to save him.
