Joe, Lennon, Jessica and Rav head to Atlantic City for a gaming convention to debut Joe's videogame. The ladies quickly realize that in order for Joe to win Fan Favorite, they will need to cater to the nerds. Meanwhile, an unexpected encounter between Jessica and Rav has them questioning their true feelings for each other.
Jessica attempts to plan Lennon's open house for her new community dance studio. The arrival of Lennon's former dance partner who is now a famous choreographer, Ken Haskins (guest star, Adam Campbell), forces Jessica to share her best friend planning duties. Meanwhile, Joe questions Ken's sexuality and true intentions and wonders if Lennon's old pal is really just a friend.
Jessica gets back into the dating game after receiving a Facebook message from a former crush. However, after things go awry, she takes sage advice from Rav and ends up at an unusual frat party. Meanwhile, Lennon and Joe struggle with finding intimate time together in their new living situation.
Lennon goes the extra mile to create a wonderful surprise gift for Joe's dad's (guest star J.K. Simmons) upcoming retirement party. However, it's Marilyn (guest star Mimi Kennedy), Luka's mom, that Lennon is most worried about pleasing. Meanwhile, Jessica is forced to face the reality of her divorce when all her belongings literally show up on her doorstep.
When Jessica is overnighted divorce papers, her best friend Lennon convinces her to return home to Brooklyn and back into the apartment they used to share. The girls easily fall back into old habits -- none of which is good news for Lennon's live-in boyfriend, Joe. Meanwhile Jessica adjusts to her new single life by reconnecting with old friends like Rav; however her new efforts meet the critique of the friends' precocious nine-year-old neighbor, Queenetta.
