Jack is a by-the-book detective whose habit of undermining himself has resulted in a dead-end position with the Police Dept. His partner Dan, a drunken, lecherous veteran hangs onto his job only because of one heroic act years ago.

When a trio of dangerous explosives smugglers Julius snitched on are released from prison early on a technicality, Dan must risk his badge to save Julius's life.

While following up on a stolen truck investigation, Jack and Dan wind up uncovering a major heist involving a shipment of high-profile diamonds. Meanwhile, tensions rise when Dan discovers Jack is interviewing for a position on an elite police unit.
The Getaway
Jack and Liz leave town for a romantic weekend away at a bed and breakfast, but the fire is short-lived when Jack instantly becomes suspicious of the owner's strange curiosity. Things heat up again, however, when Dan rushes out to the once-quiet B&B after learning about Jack's extracurricular investigation.
Silence of the Dan
While investigating a stolen painting at a doctor's house, Dan faints, and is restricted to desk duty until he recovers. Despite the handicap, Jack and Dan must find and capture the mysterious art thief, who may have left more at the crime scene than he intended.
The Whistleblower
Jack and Dan start a neighborhood watch after Ruiz is the victim of a peeping Tom. However, they accidentally stumble upon an assassin hired by an oil company to kill a team of whistleblowers, led by ADA Traynor's new boyfriend.
Old Dogs
Jack's uncle, Nate, a deceitful con man, witnesses an arson and goes to see Jack and Dan with information about the people behind it. With the Nate as the only witness, the investigation forces Jack to work alongside his uncle, a man he barely knows or trusts.
Dan on the Run
After the ex-governor's son, who was rescued by Dan and his former partner 25 years ago, is kidnapped by drug dealers, Dan is framed for the crime and forced into hiding. With Dan on the lam, Jack must find the real kidnappers and prove his partner's innocence, while Dan, out of options, must turn to an old partner, the legendary Frank Savage, for help.
Little Things
Acting on a tip from an 11-year-old, Jack and Dan uncover a plot to falsify legal documents for two violent Mexican drug dealers who are coming to America.
Common Enemies
Jack and Dan go off on their own, yet again, after they are assigned to help a forensic specialist with a burglary case. Weary of the specialist's superiority complex, the duo breaks free only to be tangled up in another case entirely. They must get help from an unlikely source to save Liz when she gets in trouble working a high-profile prostitution sting.
Vacation
After being suspended for some of their usual off the cuff not really by the book police work, Dan sets up a sting with some money he "borrowed" from the Dallas Police Narcotics Division. Unbeknowst to Jack and Dan this money is later used to finance a prison break, which Jack and Dan must stop before the prisoners escape and the Chief finds out.
Don't Tase Me, Bro
Dan goofs up when he accidentally outs a witness in the Witness Protection Program. While a hitman from a dangerous crime family searches for the witness to keep the testimony buried, Jack and Dan team up with a U.S. Marshal to protect the innocent and stop the bad guys' nefarious plot.
Silvio's Way
While Jack and Dan sit in a bar while they are supposed to be doing a stakeout at an electronics store, Dan runs into a mobster from an undercover sting he was working on seven years earlier.
Hunches & Heists
The department is tipped off about a getaway driver who may be part of a future bank robbery, but Dan convinces Jack to trust his hunch that the information is not credible.
Small Rooms
Dan plants a piece of evidence at a crime scene, and gets Jack and him, as well as A.D.A. Traynor and her mother, in trouble with gun dealers.

The guys stumble onto a vintage American car theft ring, and the thieves may have an inside source in the police department helping them out.

Jack and Dan are given a routine case about stolen humidifier, which soon escalates into a case involving drug runners, hired assassins, a plastic surgeon, and a golf bag filled with drug money.
