A New Jersey family moves to an affluent gated community composed entirely of extraterrestrials.

Will he succeed with their plan? Meanwhile, Amber has a new college boyfriend and finally confides in Debbie. Will she be able to keep Amber's confidence?
Marty and Debbie love their new Friday night bowling league but Debbie is terrible and the other two teammates ask Marty to kick her off the team. Meanwhile, when word gets out that the alien colony is getting a little too Americanized, Larry's father sends an ominous figure to possibly take over the mission.
Debbie's estranged wild child mother (guest star Rhea Perlman) invites the Weavers to come to her timeshare in San Diego and meet her newly adopted son - he's 10. Debbie agrees to the trip provided that Larry & Jackie come too as a buffer. Meanwhile, Marty tries to cure Abby of her fear of the ocean.
Marty and Debbie are feeling like they are in a rut, so Marty plans a date night, but it turns out not exactly as Debbie envisioned it. Meanwhile, Dick falls madly in love with the new babysitter.
Marty and Debbie are worried when Larry Bird tells them his Indian co-worker at the coffee shop has invited him to a traditional Indian wedding. Despite their pleas, Larry decides to attend without their approval and he and Jackie get carried away when trying to come up with a wedding gift. After Larry does research on Indian weddings, he concludes all weddings take place in "Bollywood" and decides to give his friend a full scale Bollywood number.
Debbie finally joins a popular social media outlet and starts friending her old friends from Bayonne. Because she and Marty have lost touch, the Weavers decide to throw an Oscar party and invite everyone to reconnect. When the Bird-Kersees hear about the festivities, they decide to make themselves indispensable to the Weavers by turning the house into the most lavish, over-the-top Oscar party.
When she hosts her college study group at home, Debbie's maternal instincts kick in and she can't help herself from being more of a mom than a peer with the other students. Later, Larry experiences jealousy for the very first time after visiting Jackie at work while Amber and Reggie make an important decision about their relationship.
Debbie struggles with going back to school and the advances of a flirtatious professor, while Marty is at home with Amber, mourning her relationship with Reggie. Meanwhile, Larry & Reggie are emotional wrecks as their Zabvronian male cycles have synchronized, and Dick is going through the "terrible tens."
Marty and Debbie prepare for their high school reunion, where Debbie will face her arch nemesis and Marty and his high school band perform.
After the Bird-Kersee's are mugged, they become panicked about safety while living on Earth, so Debbie and Marty attempt to teach them how to protect themselves, and Larry decides to build a Panic Room... in Marty and Debbie's bedroom. Meanwhile, when Jane intrudes on a date night for Amber and Reggie, he must decide, once and for all, which girl he wants to be with.
When a water pipe bursts in the Weaver house, Mother Joyner and Father Kersee help the Weavers clean up the mess. Marty and Debbie are so eager to finally have the company of warm, supportive parents that they don't realize they're inadvertently causing a rift between Jackie and her parents. Will they ever be able to make up? Meanwhile, Larry steps up his job hunting to prove to Jackie's parents that he can get a job and support his family.

Following her experience in the Shark Tank, Debbie decides to attend a Business School, but before she can apply she must pass a qualifying exam. Thus, Marty steps up to help more around the house, while Dick becomes her tutor. Meanwhile, Amber and Reggie's relationship is put to the test after a new and improved Jane enrolls at their school.
Debbie creates and designs a unique purse and Jackie gets them booked onto "Shark Tank" to find an investor. When Larry joins them on the show, the outcome from their presentation is not what anyone of them - including the Sharks - expected. Meanwhile, Amber (literally) steps up to be Abby's choreographer for her big dance recital.
As football season consumes the rest of the Weaver household, Debbie focuses on Amber's relationship with Reggie. With the help of Jackie, the mothers set up a secret romantic date for their eldest children. Meanwhile, Larry decides golf is a boring and pointless game and endeavors to replace the sport for the community with football, wardrobe and all.
Larry tries to combine Halloween and Chanukah to create a new super-holiday. Meanwhile, an obnoxious couple challenges Marty and Debbie to a family Halloween costume contest.
After a botched game night leaves Jackie doubting her and Debbie's friendship, they go for makeovers by Shirley (guest star Wendy Williams) at a salon that specializes in African American hair care - hairstyles ensue. Also in the episode, Amber and Reggie continue to explore their biological differences and bond over nature programming, while Dick's plan to get Marty in shape backfires and results in an injury that brings Larry face-to-face with the realities of Earth's healthcare system.
Jackie and Debbie hit a new found stride in their friendship, telling each other their most intimate secrets. But there's one thing Jackie won't tell her next door neighbor: ever since Larry's father cut the Joyner-Kersee family off financially, Jackie has been secretly working at the local Mexican restaurant. When Jackie sees an opportunity to get promoted to manager, she invites her boss over for dinner and gets more than she bargained for.
