When King Uther dies and Britain faces chaos, Merlin presents an unknown named Arthur as the new king by birthright, as the late king's son, against the ambitious desires of his half-sister, Morgan.

Reckoning
The battle of Bardon Pass continues as Arthur tries to defend it alone. Meanwhile Morgan continues with her plan to take the throne while Arthur is away.
The Battle of Bardon Pass
Bardon Pass is attacked and Arthur and his men rush to protect it. Merlin discovers Morgan has been in the castle all this time.
Igraine
Morgan fools everybody at Camelot with her disguise, even Merlin. However, after Redwald, a little orphan boy, whom she and Merlin have helped celebrate his birthday, accidentally dies because of her, Merlin has his suspicions.
The Long Night
Despite the misgivings of Ygrain and Kay, Arthur and his inner circle attend a banquet given by Morgan as a sign of reconciliation, during which her castle is attacked.
Three Journeys
Camelot's knights must defend the castle from dangers found beyond the borders. Guinevere travels alone to meet her father, and Arthur follows secretly.
Justice
Arthur and his knights come to a village where the head man has been killed and his alleged murderer Colfur is about to be lynched.
Lady of the Lake
Merlin sets off on a journey to find a sword suitable for a king by seeking out a legendary sword maker. A conversation with Guinevere changes Arthur and he begins to assert his power by sparring with Leontes.
Guinevere
Kay and Leontes seek out a trusted new warrior to join them. Arthur and Merlin accept an invitation to join Morgan at her castle for dinner. Arthur is forced to concede defeat in his pursuit of Guinevere
The Sword and the Crown
Arthur is crowned King of the Britons and Morgan and Lot have a falling out. Morgan decides to turn to other "dark" methods of gaining what she wants even at a price.
Homecoming
In the wake of King Uther's sudden death, chaos threatens to engulf Britain. When the sorcerer Merlin has visions of a dark future, he installs the young and impetuous Arthur, Uther's unknown son and heir, who has been raised from birth as a commoner. But Arthur's cold and ambitious half sister Morgan will fight him to the bitter end, summoning unnatural forces to claim the crown in this epic battle for control. These are dark times indeed for the new king, with Guinevere being the only shining light in Arthur's harsh world. Faced with profound moral decisions, and the challenge of uniting a kingdom broken by war and steeped in deception, Arthur will be tested beyond imagination.
